In a world where we move forwards faster each day, it becomes even more important that we take time to reflect on our past. History allows us to appreciate our past accomplishments and gives inspiration for future achievements. This timeline is meant to be an easily accessible and user-friendly way for those involved in the Frederick County agricultural community to interact with a part of our past.

1917

Through an act of Congress, youth agricultural programming is started around the country. Within its first year Frederick clubs are among the most successful

1918

The county program continued to see growth. Reports from 1918 give the first mention of Girl's Clubs.

1919

1919 saw the introduction of expanded project areas. The county agent spent more time instructing clubs in project work.

1920

The program remained healthy overall, however, the County Agent prioritized farmer's needs over youth work in a nation wide industry crisis.

1921

The county program continued to struggle with the County Agent's attention on impending matters, however, many remained active.

1922

Strain between managing farmer-based organizational issues and the youth program left new Agent McGill in charge of a difficult year for the program's growth.

1923

The program gains more local traction as the community supports club work in a variety of ways.
